O THAT WE HAD BEEN CIVILIZED IN
THE TRUEST SENSE OF THE TERM!
O that we had not
been sitting on a live and lethal volcano’s mouth
While blindly
bursting crackers from East to West, and North to South,
Taking the holy
occasions as an easy, absurd and irrelevant excuse
Heading recklessly
towards cutting apart the lovely Earth’s life-fuse!
O that we had not
been, like the wild and intoxicated evening moths,
Getting frenzidly
tempted by the smothering and murderous light,
Before being
scorched while mistaking to exude utmost
delight
Alas! Finishing off,
in an instant, the scripts of our own piteous pathos!
O that we had not
been on a mad and blatant spree of self destruction
For many an
irrational, unrestrained and perilous exhilaration,
Under the poor
pretexts of Religious fervour and cultural celebrations
Severing off lives’
Inchcape Bells as Sir Ralph, with ruinous intentions!
O that we had been
evolved and civilized in the truest sense of the term
To lengthen our
life spans, and our dearest Mother Earth’ usual Term!
N.B: Sir Ralph
was a sea pirate who cut off the Inchcape Bell which was fixed on a buoy and
anchored around the Inchcape Rock to warn the sailors about the presence of the
Inchcape Rock to divert their ships to save them from destructions. He himself
was the victim of his own evil deedwhile he was returning from his plundering
and getting collided against the same submerged rock.
