LET'S TAKE AN OATH ON THE HOLY BUDDHA PURNIMA DAY!

LET'S TAKE AN OATH ON THE HOLY BUDDHA PURNIMA DAY!

Let's receive a redeeming Ray of light,
From the luminous Light of Asia;
Let's sip a delicious, decisive draught,
From His Enlightenment Ambrosia!

Let's ever practise His principle of Universal Fraternity,
Let's love and respect the whole humanity;
Let's douse the flames evil forces with the cooling water of healing compassion,
Let's destroy, with peaceful arms, the devils of violence, and deadly discrimination!

Let's live like the helping props for the needy and the crippled,
Let's be the relieving supports for the destitute creepers disabled;
Let's sprinkle the rare Nectar of Love in the disintegrating society,
Let's ward off hatred, spite, exploitation, pain, fear and anxiety!

Let's take this solemn oath on the holy Buddha Purinma Day,
Let's seriously mould our subtle minds of very raw and delicate clay!
Before it rains cats and dogs, let's now sensibly make hay,
With the warmth and heat of what Lord Buddha does say!

THE FIRST RAIN

THE FIRST RAIN

Oh! The first rain does enthuse and enliven a dry life,
Like the unique and unforgettable first Love!
Its diamond drops, like the sweet kisses of a loving wife,
Touch, energise and revive the singeing and thirsty life's globe!

Oh! The first rain, like a loyal spouse's enthralling embrace,
Does bless the waiting Earth with a wetting and soothing grace!
It does bring cheers and greenery on Her sweating and breathtaking surface:
Ah! Both enhance in life an ecstatic, energetic and rejuvenating richness!

Oh! The first rain, like a lady's first delightful, dream delivery,
Showers on life abundant happiness and euphorically verdant revelry!
It washes away all the disgusting the dusts of decay and decadence,
It pours in life the fresh cascades of promises and prosperity immense!

Oh! May smile, on one and all, the much sought after first rain!
May all relish its blissful benediction to end infertility,  inertia and pain!

*Benedictions - blessings

LET'S ALL LEARN FROM THE KOREAN UNION!

LET'S ALL LEARN FROM THE KOREAN UNION!

Yes, no animosity is too bitter,
To last for eternity and forever!
The glaring example of it,
Is the last devastating Korean War!

The rigid and rasping rancour of over Six Decades,
Got, yesterday, dissolved in a few unforgettable seconds,
As hugged the two hands and embraced the two State-Heads,
After they swore to stop the gory and brutal bloodsheds!

Let's all today learn solemnly, at the earliest, to do our utmost and best:
To plant the saplings of Love to elongate the breath of the Earth,
To shut the factories of intolerance, envy, weapons and wrath,
We should, before too long, blatantly and blindly end ourselves lest!

Let's all learn without fail from the incredible and ecstatic Korean Union:
"Love, the ultimate Saviour of the Earth, leads the rest in the long run!"

THE REIGN OF THE BRITISH GHOSTS

THE REIGN OF THE BRITISH GHOSTS

Who dare say that the Britishers left us forever,
Putting an end to their repressive and exploitive tenure,
Endowing upon us our freedom so raptly sought after,
Sprinkling joy in every Indian nook and corner?

Can't we feel their ghosts still prowling here and reigning,
Dwelling under the skin of their white and black representatives,
Who are the most devoted demons of their foreign forefathers?
Their Sun never rises without them abiding,
Their day never proceeds without their being treacherous,
Their night never falls without their meanest grabbing pack;
Their appetites get lost without their being the mock chameleons,
Their lives run uneventful without duping the hapless masses!

The victims relish freedom only after their death!
Then, how can we claim to have a free, siveresov and republic State?

TO THE CUCKOO - THE ETERNAL FLUTE OF NATURE!

TO THE CUCKOO - THE ETERNAL FLUTE OF NATURE!

O the eternal and euphoric Flute of Mother Nature!
Thou ceasest never thy symphonic shower,
Thou dost bless the Earth with thy ethereal rapture,
Thou dost compel the common commotions to cower!

Oh! Thy mesmerizing melody from the dawn,
Doth keep enthusing the earthlings till sets the Sun!
The unhealthy and unpleasant worldly honks can't rip,
Thy strong and serene serenade's imperturbable grip!

Since the beginning, men do come, and men do go,
But, thou wilt continue thy celestial singing show!
Nothing can stoppeth thee from thy spellbinding entertaining,
For, thou art the mundane music  world's  the ever unrivalled King!

O the unmoved and unswerving Creature of Nature!
The Earth bows before thee, for thou art the best Guide and Teacher!
Should the mankind practise an ounce of thy inimitable nature,
The Earth shall be a Heaven, and the poor terrestrials shall be richer!

A DRUNKARD'S APPEAL TO OTHER DRUNKARDS!

A DRUNKARD'S APPEAL TO OTHER DRUNKARDS!

No sooner does the much awaited night fall,
Than I rush to attend the wine shop's irresistible call,
So that I can easily forget the day's fatigue and tensions all,
And I can satisfy my never ceasing thirsts with spirited alcohol!

Ah! Soon I step into a pseudo kingdom of celestial trance,
I swim then in an ecstatic ocean of abundance,
I rejoice with my revived vigour to relish and dance,
Yes, I find myself, the luckiest, at the Heaven's entrance!

Until the the fateful day dawns, I gobble chickens and prawns,
Alas! Unmindful, that my babies bleed, and Mrs. moans,
I enjoy myself to the hilt until my sham revelry very soon stuns,
Until an untimely, imminent ruin over me and my innocent family runs!

Thus, may I make a right appeal to the devotees of wine without any right?
"Those who worship wine, can never see, like me, the Sunrise in their life's night!

Please share this poem.

O MY LOVE! YOU ARE ONE OF THE FINEST FABRICS OF THE NATURELOOM!

O MY LOVE! YOU ARE ONE OF THE FINEST FABRICS OF THE NATURELOOM!

O my Love! You are one of the finest fabrics of the Natureloom,
For, in your blithe presence a billion buds of Beauty so wilfully bloom!
Never do the dark blinds dare to fall, or sadness sadistically looms,
For, on your august arrival, gallops away all the agonising glooms!

O my Love! You are one of the beatific beads of Nature's diamond rings,
Your Monalisan vivacity maddens millions of  monarchs, emperors, and kings!
You are a rare model of fairness for the connoisseurs of aesthetic excellence,
Ah! Without you, Beauty lacks soon much of Its inherent and inevitable essence.
Ah! A quick and gleeful glance of yours, a world of beatitude brings,
Through your magical vocal chord, a melodious Nightingale sings,
At your heavenly touch a cuckoo's symphony resonates and rings,
Oh! Yours being in one's life is, irrefutably, one of enviable blessings!
Thus, I thank you not more than He Who has moulded meticulously for me you,
Who has made you to remain in my heart forever, like dew drops fresh and new!

YES, YOU ARE ONE OF THE BOONS OF MOTHER NATURE'S GRACE!

YES, YOU ARE ONE OF THE BOONS OF MOTHER NATURE'S GRACE!

Yes, you are fairer than a fairy,
You are sweeter than a cherry,
You are, with no doubt, softer than wool,
As you are, a water melon is not so cool!

Yes, you are warmer, in winter, than fur,
Even than a Full Moon, you are brighter,
Like the Pacific Ocean, your Love is deeper,
Your heart is, than a plume, much lighter!

Yes, you are as fresh as the serene dawn,
You are as soothing as an emerald lawn!
Your presence in my life shines like the Sun,
Alas! In your absence, sorrows as fire, burn!

Yes, you are  one of the boons of Mother Nature's Grace,
Ah! When you are beside, I can win many a Marathon Race!

YES, BEAUTY BLUSHES AT THY BEAUTIFUL GLANCE!

YES, BEAUTY BLUSHES AT THY BEAUTIFUL GLANCE!

Ah! Thy succulent apple-like cheeks,
Irresistibly invite me for a sweet kiss!
At thy bud-like lithe and pink lips,
My relishing heart ever ardently peeps!

At thy pitch, velvety and silky eyebrows,
Sky high my lusty Love flame steadily blows!
Thy new-born leaf-like tender chin,
Does beckon me to leap upon it and lean!

Ah! Thy spongey, captivating and chaste chest,
Adorably and enviably seems to me the very best!
It swiftly steals my sleep, and quickly robs my rest,
Ah! It insists me on to make you my life's eternal Guest!

Yes, Beauty shyly blushes at thy beautiful glance,
To have thee in one's life is surely a celestial chance!

WHAT WILL YOU FEEL?

WHAT WILL YOU FEEL?

What will you feel,
When someone else dines the delicious dinner;
But, you have to unavoidably pay the painful bill?

What will you feel,
When you are sentenced to the hateful prison,
For, someone else did another immorally kill?

What will you feel,
For, someone else does illegally a heavy sum steal,
But, alas, you have to bear the brunt of a bleeding steel?

What will you feel,
When you shell out a huge fine, for, someone else does gamble,
But, by money, power and clout, drink, dance and amble?

May none of you ever be an innocent quarry!
For, it's too bitter, for others' blunder, to say Sorry!

Glossary:
Shell out - to be forced to pay more
Amble - here, to escape
Quarry - victim

LET'S UNSHACKLE A CHILD.

LET'S UNSHACKLE A CHILD.

Let not a child's feeling buds be ever plucked,
Let not the path of a child's success be ever blocked,
Let not the doors of a child's dreams be ever locked,
Let not the world of a child's happiness be ever rocked!

Let not the pure mind of a child be ever alloyed,
Let not the tender thoughts of a child be ever coiled,
Let not the sacred heart of a child be ever soiled,
Let not the sweet simplicity of a child be ever boiled!

Let a child ever fly with its free wings,
Let a child ever move in its free swings,
Let a child be made its own realm's King,
Let a child be unshackled to play, dance and sing!

Let no child ever be deprived of any of the above,
So that this drab world can be built a heaven of Love,
So that the same child must reciprocate the same when its parents are children,
Thus, the cycle of Love can continue like the bounteous Nature's Panacean Rain!

DISTRUST

DISTRUST

Ah! A dram of distrust poisons a drum of happiness,
It soon dries up a deep Sea of invaluable loyalty wealth!
It instantly withers a joyous Rose, sprightly and fresh,
Yes, it uproots a towering tree of firm and unfaltering Faith!

Ah! A sly intrusion of a deadly distrust,
In a moment, a Millennium's relation, does burst!
It grinds love and affections into  hostile,  unhealthy dusts,
Yes, it blows off fellow feelings by its cruel buffeting gusts!

Ah! Sweetness is suddenly soured during a distrust dictator's reign,
Strength of cooperation is so fast weakened by its eroding stain!
Ah! The yields of Ages are spoilt by its contaminating acid rains,
Yes, it blesses with nothing, though curses with sharp and acute pains!

Thus, let not the devil of distrust destroy anyone charms,
For, the snake of distrust helps least, but most bitterly harms!

CALLS OF THE YOUNG PLANTS ON THE HIGHWAYS!

CAllS OF THE YOUNG PLANTS ON THE HIGHWAYS!

Oh! Our innocent Parents were pitilessly, by you, beheaded!
They used to, to protect you, constantly shower shade,
To broaden the narrow roads on the National Highways,
To make the ever increasing commuters' days!

Ah! Our Grand Parents were pitiably cut and felled,
Just as, in modern day warfares, massacres are held;
To keep the tarred Highways neat, clean and unhurt,
To bless, with an unprecedented boost, to the business lot!

Alas! Our Great Grand Parents were piteously culled as chickens,
With false promises of planting,  to compete with the Eden Gardens!
We are those ill-fated young plants, who stand in many a scattered row,
Ouch! We are cruelly clean-shaved lest we should ever ramify and grow!

Hark! O Mortals, unless you hear and heed to our echoes of important precautions,
Unless you awake to our urgent calls to act upon our fatal premonitions,
Unless you take care of us and spread more and more plantations,
You will imminently perish with no other remedial solutions!

AN EXAMPLE ON SUPERSTITION

AN EXAMPLE ON SUPERSTITION

Father used to perform Shradha annually,
To pay to ancestors a token of love, respect and homage,
With all prescribed rites and solemnity.
He would never fail to cover up cats the unruly,
Lest they should profane the offerings causing impurity!
Alas! The son was least aware of the cats’ episode at an early age.

After father’s demise as he grew up to practise the same,
The most abiding son left no stone unturned.
But, alas! Now there were no cats, and what a shame!
He urged his wife and kids ignorant and unlearned:
“Go out and fetch the complements to be baskets under,
Else, I’ll shirk, Shradha will be incomplete and sin I’ll incur!”

No sooner did the kids return, after a sweating search, with the cats,
Than the anxious father, beamed with a smug smile, uttered ‘Congrats!’

* complements – the literal meaning is without which something/someone is incomplete. Here ‘cats’  are the complements.
* Shradha – annual functions as offerings, with Vedic rituals and worships, to the souls of the deceased of the paternal or maternal family

PEOPLE WHO DWELL ON THE PAVEMENTS!

PEOPLE WHO DWELL ON THE PAVEMENTS!

Ah! They are born to be helplessly bare,
Haplessly thrown under the acute adversity's glare,
Predestined to be deprived of the basic needs' care!
Alas! A very few have time to stand, and at them, stare!

Ah! Dust and dirt are their beautifying cosmetics,
Scorpion stings and snake bites lead their wounds to septics,
Unhygienic water cause to break out their diarrhoea,
Alas! Mosquitoes cruelly pierce them to die of Malaria!

Alas! Sweats are never salty or pungent to them,
They play, without a consequence, their life's game,
They toil and strive until they miserably mingle with the soil,
Ah! After they burn for the Rich Engines, like petroleum oil!

O God! When will the Sun of their Destiny rise?
You alone know, when they will be paid a due prize.

YES, I'VE BEEN BREATHING ONLY FOR YOUR SAKE!

YES, I'VE BEEN BREATHING ONLY FOR YOU!

My Love gently whispers in my eager ears,
"Because of you only, I have shunned my shyness and fears,
Because of you only , I have forgotten my own worries and cares,
For, I have willed in your name my life's all precious shares!"

My Love softly murmurs near me,
"Because of you only, my heyday has reached its acme,
Only you have become my lucky life's a diamond dream,
Yes, like the noon Sun, in my life, you do always gleam!"

My love smilingly mumbles almost in a hush,
"Because of you only, my streams of happiness do ever gush;
For, you like vital blood, ever flow in my chaste veins,
Yes, you have added to my existence a noble sense!"

My love sweetly speaks, " Whether

I am asleep or awake,
"Do trust me, I have been breathing only for your sake!"

AN EASTER WISH

AN EASTER WISH

Easter is also called 'Pascha' in Greek and Latin;
It is the sacred Sunday of Jesus Christ's Resurrection,
It is the Day of Poetic Justice, and celebration,
It is symbolic of the rise of Virtue, and fall of crime and sin!

Easter is the Third Day of Lord Christ's Crucifixion,
On His rebirth, the moment of joy, ecstasy and jubilation,
The time for holidaying, sharing gifts and egg decoration,
The opportunity to spread humanity and compassion!

Easter teaches the mankind to nurture love and brotherhood,
"To live and let live, all of us first know should,
To bury Vice forever, and Punya Saplings for good,
To follow in Lord's sermons, and live on Divine Food!

May the holy Easter bring to all the rays of Hope and life,
May It bless all with Salvation at the end of their mundane strife!
