A 74TH BIRTHDAY WISH TO SJ. NAVEEN PATNAIK

A 74TH BIRTHDAY WISH TO SJ. NAVEEN PATNAIK

O the astute Chanakya in Odisha's contemporary politics!

You are embedded with laudable logics and impeccable statistics.

You have stunned even the sorcery kings

And shocked the clueless opponents by your victory stings

With your five consecutive coronation magics,

Proving again, Teresan feelings and Gandhian wills –

“To serve is to win people's hearts by honest and needful deals

Where hardly matter hollow and freaky language tricks!"

Unquestionably, your responsible, reasonable and relevant reticence

Has time and again subdued your hapless arch rivals

Hushed their husky, rancorous and raucous voices, and stupefied their sense!

You have preached silently and frequently showcasing your potentials -

"Votes are won by service records, goodwill, pro-people schemes and actions,

Not merely by spreading ridiculous rumours, playing lame blame-games

And, giving false assurances and reverie-like proclamations

Which bring forth, at length, nothing but defeats, affronts and shames!"

Thus, may the young, talented and qualified Odia men and women

During your 21st century's golden Gupta reign,

Not be tempted, enticed and entangled by an aching brain drain!

On the contrary, may Odisha be turned a hub of lavish investments foreign

May your regime rewrite Odisha's rewarding and memorable history

Of sustainable surge in health, wealth, peace, progress and happiness

May your rule usher in odishaan admirable revival and Renaissance

Ofart, education, culture, farming, science, technology, industry and business,

May your able, stable and reliable incumbency heal by scrupulous chemistry

The wounds of poverty, corruptions, addictions and inequalities in the real sense!

  1. A little bit of a difficult read, but the gist is present. Your work comes to life better in brief quatrains Shankar-ji. But a tribute is a tribute, and it's clear that this was heartfelt.
