O dear Bijuji! The adept and prudent Architect of a Modern Odisha,
We most sincerely pray thee to make a kind and considerate comeback;
For, thy heart-wrenching absence has turned the forlorned sky of Odisha cloudy and dark,
Ah! Thou wert not less daring and caring to Odisha than to India, Sardar Patelji!

O dear Bijuji! We are immensely owed and thankful to thee;
For, thou wert the venerable visionary JRD of a Modern Odisha!
Who else could be, to us like thee, so much pivotal and worthy?
Ah! Who else could make Odisha so much self-sufficient and healthy?

O dear Bijuji! We, most profoundly, love and honour thee;
For, thou wert, undoubtedly, the golden Gleam of a Modern Odisha!
Who else was so much blessed, like thee, with such a silver spoon in his mouth?
Ah! Who else was adored and needed, like the Polestar, from the North to the South?

O dear Bijuji! We, most solemnly, respect and salute thee;
For, thou wert the proud Retainer of a rare and resplendent dual Citizenship!
Who can think of paying thee back thy immeasurable and invaluable dues?
Ah! Who else could adorn the Captions better and oftener for Odisha News?

O dear Bijuji! We, so sorely, sourly and sullenly miss thee;
For, thou wert to the whole of Odisha, the most darling Bapuji!
Who else can make up for, left by you, the deepest void and the saddest vacuum?
Ah! Who else can own thy unmatched dexterity and thy enviable equilibrium?

O dear Bijuji! We, most optimistically and wistfully, beckon to thee;
For, thou wert, undeniably, the glorious Pride and dignity of Mother Odisha!
Mayest, thou thus pass thy luminous legacy to the million deserving Successors,
Who can toil like thee, and die for Odisha, to retrieve Her priceless missing Pearls.

O dear Bijuji! We, most humbly, fondly and heartily, beseech thee;
O one of the most booned and favoured Sons of Mother Odisha,
To have a gracious and precious glance at thy bereaved and bewildered Mother!
Lo! How bitterly She wails! Who else can clear Her worrying and overcast weather?

O dear Bijuji! We, most lovingly and fervently, embrace thee;
For, thou wert the loyal, dauntless and unrivalled Lion of a Modern Odisha!
Who else could roar like thee for the greater gains of the deprived Odia?
Ah! Who else from Odisha’s politics can better embellish, like thee, today's Wikipedia?

O dear Bijuji! We, most earnestly, request thee to make a kind comeback;
For, thou wert the Pioneer in laying the foundation stone of a Modern Odisha!
Thus, unless thou dost make a benevolent, much solicited and long awaited return,
None else can, indeed, give Odisha a fitter identity as well as a sweeter recognition!

* JRD – Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, the doyen of India’s industrial growth
* Bapuji – Mohandas Karamchand Gandhiji, the Father of the Nation, India
* dual Citizenship –Biju Pattnaik was given a honorary citizenship and awarded "Bhoomi putra" the highest Indonesian award, rarely granted to a foreigner, because of his daring act of rescuing and saving the lives of Sutan Sjahrir, the Indonesian Nationalist and Prime Minister.
