O Lake! Thou art unlike the mortal humans
Never art thou fulsome, fleeting, futile or fake.
Two contrasting qualities between thee and us:
We live at the cost of the Earth, Thou for Its sake!
How transparent Thou art, how opaque we are!
How impartial Thou art, how partial we are!
How veracious Thou art, how mendacious we are!
How pristine Thou art, how adulterous we are!
Oh! Thou art a safe haven for the birds, we a heinous hell
Thou art an exquisite repository for the aquatic treasures
We, the poachers and predators of their peace and pleasures
Thus, Thou passest to enter the Paradise, alas! We do fail.
Thus, may we be cleansed with thy pious touch!
Ah! Nothing else, do we expect, except this much.
