WOULD THAT!

Ah! For God’s sake
Would that all the preachers could practise,
What they preach!
Would that all the teachers could practise,
What they teach!
 
Would that all the listeners could practise,
What they listen!
Would that all the viewers could practise,
What they’re shown!
 
Would that all the readers could practise,
What they’re taught!
Reign would here inexhaustible joy and peace,
And, how different would be the Earth’s lot!
