LET'S LISTEN TO THE CRIES OF THE CAGED PLANTS!
Oh! Let's listen to the cries of the caged and the captivated plants!
How hard they smite on the cruel iron bars their emaciated hands!
How painfully survive their rebellious veins, arteries, cells and glands!
How pitiably their anxious eyes shed tears, and wailing mouths send pants!
Oh! Let's listen to the cries of the caged and the captivated plants!
How hard they smite on the cruel iron bars their emaciated hands!
How painfully survive their rebellious veins, arteries, cells and glands!
How pitiably their anxious eyes shed tears, and wailing mouths send pants!
Oh! Let's take pity on the fettered and enslaved trees!
Let the birds perch on their free stems and sing on their sprawling and jolly boughs,
Let the shy and swift squirrels play hide and seek on them to the buzz of the bees,
Let the shady green roofs be the rest house for the lambs, sheep, pedestrians and cows!
Let's unchain them from the tiled terraces, marble verandahs and window sills,
So that they can suck the nourishing Milk of the Soil, and pay the Sun's Light Bills;
They can check droughts, famines, floods, malnutritions and more natural disasters,
That smiles can bloom on Earth's lips, for Natural Cycles can occur in usual orders!
This was simply superb
