AN ODE TO MY LIFE'S MONALISA

AN ODE TO MY LIFE'S MONALISA

Oh! Thy garishing gaze doth fervently forever galvanize,

Like that of Monalisa, thy devout da Vinci,

To garish thee on his heart's canvas to shine to immortalize,

As the Dark Lady had once spurred Shakespeare's sensuous fancy!

Oh! A sweet smile on thy luscious lips,

Doth enliven the wordy brush of thy Burman to paint his much awaited masterpiece,

That had once turned Johnsy, a dying unbudging pessimist into a staunch optimist,

As the amazing portrait of Portia had once been for Bassanio's eyes a ravishing feast!

Oh!  Thy enchanting vocal chord doth supersede a nightingale's serene serenade,

And doth mesmerize me to embellish and eulogize to my soul's content,

As the melodious songs of the cuckoo had once an irresistible invitation sent,

And enraptured Wordsworth to capture and treasure Hers in his life's vernal glade!
