TO AN ETHEREAL ANGEL UPON THE EMERALD WAVES.....

Oh! Upon the emerald waves of serenity,

Dost thou tread, like an ethereal Angel, in pursuit of an Ambrosian bliss;

Moving far away from the mundane mire and sordid morbidity,

To mingle with Immortality cherishing an unwavering wish!

Oh! The picturesque beauty of the yonder horizon,

Fills thy euphoric heart with peace, harmony and elation;

Thou dost seem adoring the Nature's inscrutable Creation,

And pay Her thy utmost obesciance with the sincerest submission!

But, thou hast, o my Love, become a brimming Stream of joy for my dreaming heart,

Thou hast, with thy infinitely blissful company, like a soft, soothing breeze, brought,

Me the smiles of blithe blossoms; the shines of the Full Moon, and the solace of Salvation,

Thus, dost thou say, o my Love! How canst thou be, like a nightmare, thrown into oblivion?
