If a Mother does not ever Her child sufficiently suckle
Her stolen sleep does Herself a great many times prickle.
If a Mother fails to feed Her child, for any reason, to the hilt
Her weeping heart bears uncountable holes and immeasurable guilt!
Even if a Mother, under any pressing circumstances, thrashes Her child,
Her battered Conscience calls Her a witch – crueler and more wild.
Consequently, She sheds Seas of tears, and skies of sorrows on Her get piled,
Stops Her heart beat, even if a mild cold, let alone a serious illness, catches Her child!
If ever a necessity keeps Her child for a moment out of loving sight
Soon multiplies Mother's anxiety as well as wells up Her inexplicable plight.
Darkness thickens, gets dashed to dust all Her comfort, luxury and delight
Even if at a radiant noon, gets eclipsed and darkened Her life’s brightest light!
If ever a Mother finds Her child, for an instant, sad, cheerless or pale
Shatters Her sweetest smiles a sudden advent of a tempestuous gale;
In a trice She sentences her happiness to a doleful, dismal and deadly jail
Despite having reigned in a Heaven, she finds herself in a gloomy hell!
Child’s boundless joy is what a Mother ever craves for
His holistic well-being is what a Mother ever longs for
Her child’s sound health is what a Mother ever solemnly looks for
Her child’s immortality is what a Mother ever restlessly prays for!
O that, both the Mother and Her child could ever feel a Mother:
Why She is unique, extraordinary and different from any other
What makes Her inevitably next to the Almighty greater
Why She is beyond expression by any words of a writer!
