CAN'T WE CELEBRATE NEW YEAR WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING?

CAN'T WE CELEBRATE NEW YEAR WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING?

Can't we bid a sensible bye to wine, drugs, crackers, fast food and mutton,
While we huddle together resolute for a New Year's wild celebration?
For, in the real sense, we enjoy less by indulgence or intoxication,
And, alas, we lose inexplicably more: what is, indeed, beyond our imagination!

Can't we stop seeking 'the simulated Elysian mirth' during a New Year's celebration,
Exuded from wanton gambling, rampant rape and unrestrained molestation,
Sucked from late night jazzs, lavish parties, and scrumptious dishes in five star hotels,
And raining money, hoarded by all possible meanest means, on the quasi-nude damsels?

Can't we celebrate a New Year without frivolous pomp, ostent and pageantry?
Instead of felling forests, polluting rivers, lands and space can't we each plant a tree?
Instead of fanning the chocking, noxious airs of hatred, hostility and hypocrisy,
Can't we serve all the delectable and nutritious food of amity, harmony and peace?

Let's be more prudent and thoughtful at the time of any celebration,
Else, we are to blame ourselves for being seized by Perdition instead of Salvation!
