ଶପଥ
ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟସମ ହେବି ଛୁଟାଇବି ଧାରା
ଅବିରାମ ହେବ ଗତି
ଗତିପଥେ ମୋର ପଥ ନ ରୋଧିବ
ଏ ବାଧା ବନ୍ଧନ ପ୍ରୀତି ।
AN OATH
I'll be like the sincerest Sun
And will move with a restless motion.
I'll overcome on my path each and every obstruction
That may arise from mundane bond and temptation.
ସୁନା ଫଳାଇବି ଏଧରା ବୁକୁରେ
ସବୁଜିମା ଯିବ ଛାଇ
ଗାଇଯିବି ଗୀତ ସୁମଧୁର ତାନେ
ପ୍ରାଣେପ୍ରାଣେ ଯିବ ଛୁଇଁ ।
I'll leave no stone unturned to grow crops golden,
I will strive that on Earth's bosom greenery shall reign.
I will sing with the sweetest tone of the Nightingale,
That shall touch and please every heart without fail.
ଫୁଟୁଥିବ ଫୁଲ ଏ ଧରା ବୁକୁରେ
କୁସୁମ ବର୍ଷିବ ନୀତି
ବିଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଶିଷ ଗୁରୁ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦେ
ନାଶିବି ଦୁଃଖ, ଅନୀତି |
As a result of my constant effort and selfless toil,
Manifold flowers shall bloom to beautify Mother's black soil.
I will perspire to obtain the blessings of the Gurus and the Almighty
So that to wane woes and end injustice I can put up a brave fight.
ସାଜିବି ଏ ଦେଶ ବୀର ସଇନିକ
ପଛଘୁଞ୍ଚା ଦେବି ନାହିଁ
ଲଢ଼ିବି ଜୀବନେ ପ୍ରାଣଥବା ଯାଏଁ
ଭାରତ ମାତାର ପାଇଁ l
I take an oath to be a chivalrous soldier
I'll never quit the field until the foes falter.
I'll challenge and combat till my last breath
That I can adorn Bharat with a success wreath.
