O BIJUJI, PLEASE MAKE A KIND COME BACK!

O BIJUJI, PLEASE MAKE A KIND COME BACK!

We humbly pray thee,
O the adept architect of Modern Odisha;
O beloved Bijuji,
O Odisha’s daring Sardar Patelji!

We are immensely owed to thee,
O the visionary JRD of Modern Odisha!
Who else could be, as you, so much worthy?
Who else could make Odisha so much healthy?

We profoundly love thee,
O the golden gleam of Modern Odisha!
Who else was so blessed with such a silver spoon in his mouth,
Who else was indeed the need of the hour from the North to the South?

We solemnly pray to thee,
O the retainer of a rare and proud dual Citizenship;
Who can pay back your immeasurable and invaluable dues?
Who else could adorn the Captions better for Odisha News?

We sorely miss thee,
O our Odisha’s darling Bapuji!
Who else can fill up your richest void and saddest vacuum?
Who else can own your able dexterity and enviable equilibrium?

We optimistically beckon to thee,
O the Pride of Mother Odisha!
Please pass your legacy to the deserving million successors,
Who can die for Her; who can retrieve Her missing Pearls.

We heartily beseech thee,
O the real scion of Modern Odisha!
Please have a kind glance at your impoverished Mother,
How she bewails; who else can clear and remove Her overcast weather?

We lovingly embrace thee,
O the Lion of Modern Odisha;
Who can roar like thee for the greater interest of the deprived Odia,
Who else from Odisha’s politics can better glorify today Wikipedia?

We earnestly request thee,
O the noble Soul of Modern Odisha!

To give Odisha in the real sense a fitter identity of a State Number One!

A SONNET ON MY BELOVED

A SONNET ON MY BELOVED

You are the richest of the rich blooms, indeed
You are the rarest seed of the costliest breed
You are the sweetest fruit of the noblest deed:
Past commonplace, far above the mean greed
Born only to bear, always from the front to lead
With least cravings for the trifling and trivial need,
Living to foster, nurture, nourish and caringly feed.
Ah! The loveliest precedent of the friendship creed!

What a fluke it is be blessed with your glowing grace
To win your prettiest heart in a too stiff and tough race
To savour your heavenly aroma with complete solace
To salute to your sincerity and loyalty par excellence
To wrap you gently with my softest, purest Love Lace
And treasure you forever in my soul’s subtlest Case!

* fluke - stroke of  good luck

Ah! The Wretched Mountains

AH! THE WRETCHED MOUNTAINS

Mountains teach, for their outward beauty, like the distant Moon
Should not be taken for granted emotionally and blindly so soon.
Even though they, for their invaluable gifts, surpass many a boon
Many romantic loons are hypnotized by the both to sing and croon!

Still, no doubt, mountains are the throbbing hearts of Nature
They are teemed with priceless and life sustaining treasure
That is too much for any worldly calculator to scale and measure
Without mountains, would have been dried all our sweet pleasure!

Mountains are undoubtedly the Earth’s biggest water pumps
They store in their invaluable mines so costly metal lumps.
Manifold and myriad flora and fauna so gladly dwell there
Their matchless contributions to the Earth are really rare!

Still, they are not even spared from the greedy human glare
And nights they do shed invisible tears and do silently blare,
For, they are brutally and steadily blasted, cut and murdered
No less than games, they are the easy preys to be massacred.

They are seared, singed, sawed and constantly scrubbed
They are looted, burgled, plundered and pitilessly robbed.
They are beheaded, executed, blown and blatantly erased
They are, by means of destructive machines, daily grazed!

They so lovingly all of us feed, drink and nurture
Oh! We, the disloyal humans, exploit them and torture!
Unless we change our trends and mend our brutal nature
Imminently, our lives’ tubes are certainly to puncture!

WOUNDS

WOUNDS

Wounds often result from one’s carelessness
They are often the results of one’s helplessness
Often an unavoidable circumstance one compels
Often they drop without ringing prior warning bells.

Wounds often result inintense pains, pangs and throes
They often aggravate when negligence in care grows.
They often lead to an irresistibly a tragic and sad end
However stout one may be, one does succumb and bend.

Wounds too often don’t cause vociferous, sore roars
They too don’t often shut for the rivals access doors.
They too often taste pleasingly pungent and painful
They too often sweep winds hot and cool.

Some wounds become visible, and some invisible
Some end in scars, some leave no marks perceptible.
Some are healed by medication, some by love and care
Some are past remedy, past forbearance and past share.

* throes – excess pains, * vociferous - loud
* perceptible – noticeable
