A SONNET ON MY BELOVED

A SONNET ON MY BELOVED

You are the richest of the rich blooms, indeed
You are the rarest seed of the costliest breed
You are the sweetest fruit of the noblest deed:
Past commonplace, far above the mean greed
Born only to bear, always from the front to lead
With least cravings for the trifling and trivial need,
Living to foster, nurture, nourish and caringly feed.
Ah! The loveliest precedent of the friendship creed!

What a fluke it is be blessed with your glowing grace
To win your prettiest heart in a too stiff and tough race
To savour your heavenly aroma with complete solace
To salute to your sincerity and loyalty par excellence
To wrap you gently with my softest, purest Love Lace
And treasure you forever in my soul’s subtlest Case!

* fluke - stroke of  good luck

  1. Beautiful sonnet on your beloved.....
    I remember Shakespeare sonnets...
And it is said.......he has a dark lady for his inspiration.....
Poets are highly imaginative and can create a beauty in their level of heaven..... May be teal may not be real.....
As Keats said unheard melodies are sweeter..
In their vision....she is best in all...perfect in everything....
    Wrap you with purest Love..
    Just wonderful....
    May be someone
    May not be anyone
The poem excels.....all other romantic lines
    Dear poet.....Shankar
