OURS IS A HUMBLE TRIBUTE TO VINOD KHANNA
Ah! Came to a woeful close the role of of a dazzling reel-real
life
As the all devouring cancer pierced through you a cruel knife!
A voice of sorcerous enchantment and amusement hushed forever
An actor and a persona par excellence will prevail again never!
What a conscientious and law abiding child you were!
Not to fish petty public pity and trifling media glare,
You kept your agonizing malady a top, fail-safe secret
Until your crumbling fate ultimately collapsed of late!
Yours was surely an illuminating and illustrious era
That was meticulously grafted with an awesome aura
That captivated and mesmerized the viewers all around
Among the dominant Stars on the stiff, slippery ground!
As a most favoured and favourite Hero of millions of fans
You stole many hearts with your inimitable performance.
To have a gifted Star like you was indeed a golden chance
You were indeed ‘one piece’, your lofty acting past instance!
Yet, ah! descended all those who did ascend one day
You were, undoubtedly, one of many an inoblivious Ray.
May your grand soul rest in everlasting peace!
How can you know, to what an extent we do miss?
May many Vinod Khannas, your clones, take birth on Earth
Else, who will pass your enviable legacy of spraying mirth?
As Nature’s behest must be carried out with utmost salute
May you kindly accept with love ours this ‘Humble Tribute’?
