TO THE FLOWERS
O the Softness Incarnate! You ceaselessly spray your sweet and animating fragrance,
Wherever, and whatsoever conditions you are, whenever the breeze blows over!
With your rarest soothing aura, You transform the entire ambience;
Alas! Except you, most ordinary, commonplace and cheerless all are!
O the Beauty Incarnate! You, with your magic, adorn gods and goddesses,
On all the auspicious moments, you alone are the indispensable ‘Starters’!
You motivate the valiant heroes, and salute the selfless and immortal martyrs,
You embellish the feminine charms; and heaven descends
O the Brides' Vermillions! Discrimination and you are outright strangers,
You satiate, please and bless one and all with your unswerving favours!
In return for your inimitable and heavenly services, You never long for any prize,
O the bounteous Saviours of the insects and generous Benefactors of the bees!
The Earth, indeed, would have been lifeless and lugubrious but for You,
O the sprightly terrestrial Stars, who can be, under the Sun, at par with You?
