TO THE SHIULI
Oh! How soft and supple thou art
How sweet and syrupy thy smell
How blithe and sublime thy part
How placidly thou dost dwell!
O the bewitching Beauty of the Dawn,
Thou art scared of the scorching Sun!
When lain on the cool, emerald lawn,
Eyes towards thee get magically drawn!
Thou dost descend for a while,
Yet ceases never thy pearly smile!
Thou dost teach apt facts to one and all,
“To be great in life, one need not be tall,
Immortality does not require longevity,
Beautiful deeds, not days, last past Eternity!"
O sweet Shiuli! Should men learn and practice an iota from you,
This Earth will be a synonym of Heaven which will be disagreed by few!
