ବାପା
ଧୀରେନ୍ଦ୍ର ମଲ୍ଲିକ
ଯାଇଥାନ୍ତି ବାପା କାମକୁ,
ଦେଖବା ପାଇଁକି ଆମକୁ।
ତାଙ୍କ ପରି କେହି ନୁହଁଟି ।
ଦୁଃଖ କରନ୍ତିନି କେବେ ବି,
ବିପଦ ଆସିଛି ଯେବେବି ।
ପିନ୍ଧିକି ସବୁଠି ଯାଆନ୍ତି,
ବହୁତ ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଆନ୍ତି ।
ଆମକୁ ଖୋଇବା ପାଇଁକି,
କାମକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତି ଧାଇଁକି ।
ଆମକୁ କାନ୍ଧରେ ବସେଇ,
କିଣିକି ଦିଅନ୍ତି ହସେଇ ।
ଦିଅନ୍ତି ଆଣିକି ହାତରେ ,
ଡାକନ୍ତି ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ କାତରେ ।
ନିତିଦିନ ସିଏ କରନ୍ତି ,
ଏଇକଥା ପାଇଁ ଡରନ୍ତି ।
କରିହେବନି ତା’ କଳନା,
ନାହିଁ ଟିକେ ହେଲେ ଛଳନା ॥
PAPA
Father gets up early, completes his daily chores, and leaves for work, forgetting his own comforts, just to bring a smile to our faces.
As the evening falls, his tired face lights up with a radiant smile. His frail body has countless stories to tell, but none can match his resilience.
Enduring unbearable hardships, he silently bears all our sorrows, always prepared to face impending challenges.
Wearing tattered clothes, he goes everywhere, yet brings us immense joy.
Though he eats half-empty meals, he never complains, hiding his struggles behind a gentle smile.
He takes us to fairs and festivals, carrying us on his shoulders, and buys us whatever we want with a loving smile.
He buys us books and notebooks, holding our hands, and prays to God for our bright future.
His selfless concerns for our well-being and fear of uncertainty keep him awake.
His vast heart overflows with love and devotion; whenever filled with affection, deception finds no place.
