O HAPPINESS!

O HAPPINESS!

Present a child with a lively toy,

Oh! There’ll be no limit to his joy!

Gift a child with a new and fancy dress,

Oh! With fathomless glee to you it’ll embrace!

Fetch a stomach with mouth-watering sweets,

Oh! As glad as a bride after ages her spouse meets!

Take  the children on a pleasant trip,

Oh! Drops of their elation ceaselessly drip!

Send a missive of recruitment to an uneducated,

Oh! His heart will gambol like a butterfly overjoyed!

Publish a verse of an anxious, restless poet,

Oh! Unable will he be to express his ecstatic state!

Inform a student with the First Rank he’s passed

Oh! He will skip and bound as he’d never danced!

Select a deprived player in a competent National team

Oh! Wave of joy will surge beyond his heart’s brim!

Offer a glass of succulent drink to a thirsty wayfarer

Oh! Quenched, relished, he will croon your eulogy prayer!

Serve a hungry, voracious man with scrumptious food

Oh! Slaked, satiated, he will remember you forever and for good!

Release a chained bird from a hellish, churlish iron cage

Oh! It’ll dash across the infinite sky to applaud you and praise!

Tell a prolonged, hospitalized patient about his discharge

Oh! He’ll jump, exult and engorge to the Heaven’s verge!

Convey a captive about his end of sour incarceration

Oh! Words will fail to express his oozing exhilaration!

Bring a lonely Mother the news of her distant children

Oh! Even in Summer at her cottage shalt happiness rain!

Bestow a Yogi with the most sought after Salvation

Oh! His happiness will transcend even the Pacific Ocean!

O Happiness! All the earthlings ever crave, toil and pray

To be incessantly glad, happy, pleased, contented and gay;

And be blessed with your celestial and coveted company forever

For, your exit invites unwelcome and unbearable grief and tear……!

* gambol – leap/jump

* ecstatic – over delighted

* bound - jump

* surge - rush forward

* succulent – juicy

* croon – sing

* voracious – hungry/greedy

* scrumptious - delicious

*slaked – satisfied

*satiated – satisfied

* churlish - ill-natured

* dash – hasten/rush

* applaud – clap

* exult - rejoice

* engorge - swell up due to happiness

* Heaven’s verge – near heaven

* incarceration – imprisonment

* oozing exhilaration – gushing  happiness

* earthlings – inhabitants on earth

* celestial – extreme/heavenly
