TO HELEN KELLER
You did succumb to untimely
Blindness, that ceased your Sight,
But, that could neither squeeze
your vim, nor quiver your Insight!
That did bow helplessly, at
last, before your firm and resolute Fight,
Bravo! You came out with flying
colours as a steady Pole Star to light!
Your long struggle did
personify a rare Paragon of aplomb and grit,
You dauntlessly and
valiantly did, all hurdles, overcome and meet!
How aptly you did symbolize an
undeterred determination,
How adeptly you defeated Defeat
to attain finally Liberation!
You could visualize more even
than the Most having their Eyes,
Ah! Your healthy Vision and
noble Mission did fetch you the fit Prize!
Yes, astounding and astonishing
was your die-hard battling Attitude,
Oh! The whole World marvels at
your mesmerizing Feats’ Magnitude!
You truly taught all, “Eyes
matter little for a man of Foresight and Vision,
Eyes can view what is only
visible, but, Vision, what lies past the Horizon!”
