THE BEST REMEDY FOR ‘AIDS’

Mundane attraction ignites unrestrained temptation,

Carnal indulgence incites illicit and immoral Sense Gratification!

Indiscriminate lust bears the apples of Sodom:

Called in Medical term, “Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome!”

Self-Control is, unquestionably, the best remedy

For this self-made, and not so easily detectable Malady.

Quick and wise response to one’s Scruple’s call is its safest Shield,

Hark! No Medical aid can ever aid in bringing forth as much Yield!

Let’s all, thus, lead a life of Continence and Chastity,

Let’s all ever say “No” to this forbidden Fruit of Futility!

Let’s all behold the real Beauty in giving up ugly promiscuity,

Let’s all realize the prime purpose of birth and its sweet Duty!

Let’s defecate the illegitimate filth of ignobility

Let’s renounce the ways of impure bestiality

Let’s pray for the Sacred Shower of Magnanimity

Let’s immerse ourselves in the Blissful Sea of Divinity!

N.B: This poem is composed on the occasion of WORLD AIDS DAY, to make the people aware of the causes, effects of AIDS and its remedy.

Mundane –physical

Unrestrained – uncontrolled

Illicit – unlawful

Gratification – satisfaction

Indiscriminate – done randomly, or without careful judgment

Lust – strong sexual desire

Apples of Sodom – fruit described by ancient writers as extremely of fair appearance but dissolving into smoke and ashes when plucked

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome – full form of AIDS

Scruple – the ability to take right judgment

Shield – guard/ protection

Bringing forth – producing

Yield – produce/result

Continence – self-control

Chastity – virginity/celibacy

Futility – uselessness

Behold – see

Promiscuity – the practice of having casual sex frequently with different partners or being indiscriminate in the choice of sexual partners

Defecate – clean

Illegitimate – illegal/immoral

Renounce - give up

Magnanimity - high-mindedness
