LISTEN, TOM

 LISTEN, TOM

When all call you a fool,

Lose not your cool;

Practise sincerely your victory song,

To prove them all wrong.

When all call you a coward,

Don’t give vent to your ire;

Ignite your “Self”, muster hidden power,

To receive the most coveted Award.

When all call you blind,

Be not to anyone harsh or unkind;

Do hone your skill, sharpen your mind,

Unfold before them what none ever did find.

When all call you a culprit,

Grieve not a little bit;

Stick to your fair-play

To be garlanded in the life’s fray.

When all call you a dumb,

Answer none back, Tom;

Keep multiplying your self-aplomb,

To hear your success bugle drum.

When call all you whatever,

Deal them with positive fervour;

Swerve not from your track of honest labour,

To be adorned and adored, at length, my dear.

N.B: This poem is inspired by the poem “IF’ written by Rudyard Kipling.
