LET' KEEP OUR
CONSCIENCE WIDE AWAKE!
Alas! Once we let our Conscience fast sleep,
It ceases instantly either to wink or to peep!
We cannot feel then the pinch of compunction,
Even if we slip astray, or slide on the way of deviation!
But, once we keep our Conscience alert and wide awake,
We become an impartial and sublime Angel, for God’s sake!
We can discern and distinguish between Right and Wrong,
We can love and hug the just Cream, and fling the unjust Dung!
Oh! Conscience is a priceless Gem bestowed upon man alone,
It is ever enlightening and illuminating like the
radiant Sun:
Enshrined in man to embellish life purifying the rusted mind
forever
Supporting him ever to feel the celestial Bliss like the life
sustaining liver!
Let’s thus none of us slaughter Conscience for any mean and
selfish end,
So that our friends as well as foes will heartily salute us and
commend;
We can then live to reign and prevail even long after our death,
We can enrich the Earth with Virtue wealth, and win His blessings
and faith!
