ବର୍ଷା ଓ ପ୍ରିୟା....!!

🌹ଲୋପାମୁଦ୍ରା ଜେନା 

ବରଷା ଝରିଲେ ଝିପିଝିପି ହୋଇ

ମନରେ ଲାଗଇ ନିଆଁ ,

କଳାମେଘୀ ତୁମ କୃଷ୍ଣ କବରୀରେ

ଶ୍ରାବଣର ଋତୁ ଛୁଆଁ !!

ବରଷା ଝରିଲେ କଦମ୍ବ ପତରୁ

ପାଉଁଜି ତୁମର ବାଜେ ,

ଯମୁନା ବହୁ କି ନ ବହୁ ଉଜାଣି

ତୁମ ଭାବେ ମୁହିଁ ହଜେ !!

ବରଷା ଝରିଲେ ଆଖି ତୁମ ଲାଗେ

ଛଳ ଛଳ ନୀଳ କଇଁ ,

କବିତା ଧାଡିଏ ଆପେ ଝରିଯାଏ

ପ୍ରିୟା ଗୋ' ତୁମକୁ ଛୁଇଁ !!

ବରଷା ଝରିଲେ ତୁମେ ଝରୁଥାଅ

ହୃଦୟର ବେଳାପ'ରେ ,

ବରଷା ସହ ତୋ କି ସଂପର୍କ ପ୍ରିୟା

କହିଦିଅ ଖୋଲି ଥରେ !!

RAIN AND THE BELOVED....!!

Oh! When the rain drops softly drizzle down,
My mind gets ignited with an ecstasy unknown;
O my dark skinned sweetheart, your black tresses silken
Are touched to glisten by the season of Shravan!

Oh! When the rain drips off the Kadamba leaves, 
Your melodious anklets chime to spring solace and peace;
Whether the river Yamuna swells with water or not,
In your mesmerizing thoughts, I find myself unshakably caught!

Oh! When the rain drops, your damp eyes appear,
Like a blue, bewitching lily in a deep, shimmering river;
Overflows a lively line of verse  spontaneously 
O my beloved, with the touch of you, rare and heavenly!

Oh! When the rain falls, you too spring like a Spring
On the shore of my heart; O my beloved, can you honesty sing
To convince me, once for all? — "What sort of courtship 
Do you nurture with the rain, that asks every eager lip?"
