SONG OF LIFE

My birth is a noble and decorous mission

I must embrace it with a humble submission.

I must give up sloth, comfort and cozy sleep,

Until I reach my goal, must I sweat and skip.

Mission is a two syllabic term, easy to pronounce

But, it is as vast as an ocean, alas! I own not an ounce.

It raptly yearns to pile virtue; scornful sin renounce,

To serve the needy; not to as a beast of prey pounce.

It should be a bounteous tree that gifts all free

That sucks the Sun and soaks the buffets in glee,

That gives out cool shade, oxygen, and daily bread

That eagerly provides service to all in ways myriad.

It should be a strong, steady, firm and tolerant hill

That is the origin for countless springs and rivers

That is an inexhaustible store of Nature’s favours

That is a perennial donor without a single bill!

It should be a sweet, diligent and sacrificing bee

Ever in action, never misuses the valuable life idly,

Collects honey to fill its hollow, generous hive

Ah! To end its life without crime being burnt alive.

It should be a lofty and shining beacon light

That keeps guiding the directionless in delight,

Unaffected by the tempests, cyclones or storms

Determined to illuminate and distribute charms.

It should be the never shirking and neglectful polestar

A firm believer in duty, that never alters its altar,

Well-known for its unique radiance and sincerity

Ever adored for its equanimity and engaging serenity.

It should be a milch cow, a symbol of munificence

Born to bear, love and care with no selfish sense.

Its magnanimous bounty is really par excellence

The only beast whose dung bears godly essence.

It should be water, sine it futile is all beauty creams

Oh! It is omni-present in all the living organisms.

Yes, being inanimate it is the force of animation

Ah! A rare boon of Nature, least is all adulation.

Thus, let life’s song be sung by a universal chorus

Let life be sublime, and celestially prosperous

Let life surpass all other exemplary examples

Let life live for eternity like unusual samples.
