WAR

 Oh! War rains torrential blood

It expands the straits of enmity broad!

It turns green oases into arid deserts

Ah! Compassion in its company rots!

Oh! War ruthlessly chokes fraternity

It kills callously humanity!

It breeds bitter, rancorous hatred

Ah! Fury in its company does tread!

Oh! War intensifies horror

It spurs the reign of terror!

It assumes the shape of a ravenous Monster

That cruelly licks lives as dusts does a duster!

Oh! War sprinkles frightfulness

It invokes ghastliness!

It incites gruesomeness

Past description is its ugly hideousness!

Oh! War brings everything to a standstill

Its taste is sour, sound is shrill!

It inundates the earth with tears

It besets the atmosphere with fears!

Oh! War, with its deafening sounds, blasts the eardrums

It blows incessantly tumultuous throes storms!

It dictates mass nudity and shamelessness

It opens up Pandora’s Box of stinging helplessness!

Oh! War spreads the venomous spite and malice

It chops Peace into many a wretched piece!

It dilapidates in a jiffy age-old masonries

It spills the bins of limitless miseries!

Oh! War maims, mutilates, lacerates and cripples

It suffocates, strangulates and sends gory ripples!

It bleeds, floods and all values relentlessly finishes

In its vicinity all Earth’s Mirth fumes and vanishes!

War leaves the survivors worse than the dead

It snatches their smiles, sheds, decency and bread!

Most disastrous is its ravaging and rapacious holocaust

Which turns the Whole land useless, waste and lost!

O the devilish, deadly and insensitive war mongers

When will you refrain yourselves from this Curse?

Let your sagacity be used for a better, richer Planet

Let your lavish pelf be used wisely before it is too late!

Let there return the plundered harmony and serenity

Let there prevail again tolerance and tranquility

Let the ghosts of savagery be exonerated forever

Let there flow again a Perennial Peace River!

* torrential – pouring/ bucketing/heavy

 * straits – canals/channels

* rancorous – unforgiving/ revengeful

* ravenous – very hungry/ greedy

* tumultuous – noisy/ disorderly

* throes – death pains/ extreme pains

*dilapidates – pulls down, stone from stone

* in a jiffy - in a moment/ in a minute

* lacerates – tears, * strangulates – suffocates

* gory - violent* ravaging  - devastating

 *rapacious – voracious, * mongers - dealers

* holocaust – a huge slaughter or destruction of life

* sagacity  - wisdom, * lavish  - plentiful

*savagery – uncivilized condition

*pelf – money/riches ( in a bad sense)

 * exonerated – freed
