ଓଡ଼ିଆ କବିତା "ବୋଉ" / TRANSLATED ENGLISH POEM "MOTHER"

 

ବୋଉ

ଉତୁଙ୍ଗ ଗିରିଶୃଙ୍ଗ ର ନୀଳିମାରୁ
ତୋ ମମତାର ମାପ କାଠି ଖୋଜିବା
କାଠିକର ପାଠ ମୋ ପାଇଁ,
ସାଗରର ଉତ୍ତାଳ ତରଙ୍ଗରେ
 ତୋ ବାତ୍ସଲ୍ୟକୁ ମାପିବା
କାଠିକର ପାଠ ମୋ ପାଇଁ।

ତୁ କେବେ କେବେ ସ୍ଵାର୍ଥପର ହୋଇଯାଉ
ଯଶୋମତୀର ଏକାନ୍ତ ନିଜର ପଣିଆରେ
ମୋର ଦୋଷାଦୋଷ ପରଖିବା ପାଇଁ ।
ତୁ ଭୁଲିଯାଉ ତୋର ଦେହଦୁଃଖ
       ରୋଗ ଶୋକ ଭୋକ ଦାଉ
     ଠାକୁର ଘରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନାରେ ମୋରି ପାଇଁ।
ସମାଜର ଜାବତୀୟ ଘଟଣା ଭିତରେ
ତୋ ଚାରିପଟେ ଅସଂଖ୍ୟ ଜଞ୍ଜାଳର ଭିଡ ଭିତରେ,
ତୁ ସତେଜତାରେ କାମ କରିଯାଉ ମୋ ପାଇଁ।

ତୁ ବାତ୍ସଲ୍ୟମୟୀ ମମତାମୟୀ

ଶକ୍ତିମୟୀ ଜାଗ୍ରତ ପ୍ରହରୀ ହୋଇଥାଉ

ମୋର ଭଲ ମନ୍ଦ ସୁଧାରିବା ପାଇଁ।

ଭାବି ପାରେନା ମୁଁ ତୋର

ହୃଦୟର ଗଭୀରତାକୁ

ଜାଣିପାରେନା ତୋର ଆକାଶ ଛୁଆଁ ପ୍ରଯତ୍ନ ପ୍ରହେଳିକାକୁ,

ମୋର ଜୀବନ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ ହେଉ

ତୋର ସେବା ପାଇଁ ତୋର ଇଚ୍ଛା ପାଇଁ

ମୁଁ ବାର ବାର ଜନ୍ମ ନିଏ ତୋରି

  ମମତାର ଛାଇ ପାଇଁ!

MOTHER

O Mother! It's too tough for me

To look for the key of your love

In the azure aura of the lofty mountains!

It's too stiff a job for me to measure

Your fathomless love in the surging waves of the Seas!

O Mother! Sometimes, you fondly turn selfish

While finding faults with me,

As Jashomati did connive at Nanda Gopal's!

You ecstatically forget your physical pains

You blissfully ignore the pangs of your diseases, and woes,

While devoutly praying to God for my full-fledged well-being,

You keep toiling as lively as an ant for my health, wealth and happiness,

Despite being smitten by the nagging Topsy-Turvies in the society,

And plagued by the gagging cares clinging to you like your own shadow forever!

O Mother! You are a cascade of kindness and compassion

You are an inexhaustible source of all powers and energy

Like Time, you ever stay wide awake, for my well-being,

I am too humble a self to know the depth of your heart

I am too ignorant an offspring to assess the limitless height of your caring nature,

Let my life be solely dedicated to your services;

To fulfill all your wishes,

Let me get births after births to be blessed with your divine love!
