ତୁମ ସ୍ମୃତି

ତୁମ ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ନୀଳ ଉର୍ମିମାଳା
  ଛୁଇଁଯାଏ ମନ ତଟ,
ଉଦାସୀ ପ୍ରାଣରେ ଜଗାଇ ଚେତନା
   ସ୍ବପ୍ନ ସାଥେ କରେ ଭେଟ ।।

ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ତୁମ ସଂଜୁଆ ଆକାଶେ
 ଚିକମିକ ରୂପା ଜହ୍ନ ,
ତମାମ ରାତିଟା ଆଶାର ଜୋଛନା
ଭିଯାଏ ନହୁଲି ମନ ।।

ତୁମ ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ଭିଜା ଆଷାଢ଼ରେ
ମାଟି ଚନ୍ଦନର ବାସ୍ନା,
ଅଧିର ବିଭୋର କରେ ଏଇ ମନ
ଭୁଲାଏ ଦଗ୍ଧ   ଯାତନା ।।

ତୁମ ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ଉଜାଣି ଯମୁନା
ପ୍ରୀତି କୁଞ୍ଜେ ବଂଶୀ ସ୍ଵନ,
ବ୍ୟଥାତୁରା ପ୍ରାଣେ ଭରେ ଉନ୍ମାଦନା

କେବେ ତୁମ ସ୍ମୃତି ଫଗୁଣ ମଳୟ
କେବେ ହେମାଳିଆ ବାଆ ,
ଋତୁର ତାଡନା ବିରହ ଯାତନା
ଘୁଞ୍ଚାଏ ଜୀବନ ଆହା ।।

ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ତୁମ ପଳାସ ପାଖୁଡା
   ରଙ୍ଗୀନ ଅତୀତ କଥା,
ଆଶାର ଦୀପକ ଜଳାଇ ହୃଦୟେ
  ହରୁଥାଇ ଯେତେ ବ୍ୟଥା ।

ସ୍ମୃତି କେବେ ତମେ ଋତୁ ଅଭିସାର
    ବିରହୀ ପ୍ରାଣର ଗୀତି,
ଜୀବନ ପୃଷ୍ଠାରେ ଦୁଇଟି ଅକ୍ଷର
  ଉଜ୍ଜଳ ସୁରୁଜ ଭାତି ।।

ସ୍ମୃତି----ସ୍ମାରକଚି଼ହ୍ନ,ସ୍ମରଣ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ।
ଉର୍ମିମାଳା----ଢେଉ ମାଳା।
ତଟ---ତୀର ବା କୂଳ।
ଆଶାର ଜ୍ୟୋଛନା--ଆଶାର-କିରଣ 
ମାଟି ଚ଼ନ୍ଦନରବାସ୍ନା--ଆଷାଢ଼ର ପହିଲି ବର୍ଷାରେ ମାଟିରୁ ବାହାରୁଥିବାବିମୁଗ୍ଧ ବାସ୍ନା ।
ଅଧଈର--ଅଥୟ ।
ବିଭୋର--ବିହ୍ବଳ
ଯାତନା--କଷ୍ଟ, ଦୁଃଖ
ଉଜାଣି--ଓଲଟା
ବ୍ୟଥାତୁରା--କ୍ଳେଶଯୁକ୍ତ
ତାଡ଼ନା-- ଦଣ୍ଡ ବା କଷ୍ଟ।
ଆଶାର-ଦୀପ--ଆଶାରୂପୀ ଦୀପ
ଅଭିସାର--ନାୟକ/ନଆୟଇକଆଙ୍କର ସଂକେତସ୍ଥଳକୁ ଗମନ
ବଇରହଈ--ବଇଛଏଦ ପୀଡି଼ତ।
ଉନ୍ମାଦନା--ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ଉତ୍ତେଜନା ବା
ଉଦ୍ଦୀପନା।

ବିରହୀ --ବିଛେଦପୀଡି଼ତ

YOUR MEMORY.....

Oh! The alluring and azure waves of your memory 
Sometimes gently and soothingly smooch my mind's shore,
Knock the door of my depressed, distressed and dejected heart
And spur the slumbering scruple to usher into a realm of dreams galore!

Oh! At darkling dusks, in the firmament of the western horizon
Your haunting memory is sometimes a shining silvery Moon;
The lights of sweet hopes fill my restive and rekindled mind
At the dawn of pubescence all night long with its seductive wind!

Oh! Your unforgettable and cherishable memory is sometimes
The aroma of the sandalwood emitted from the wetlands in June;
It relieves the heavy and burdened mind of all the pains
Ejaculating the perennial fountains of ecstasy and bliss soon!
  

Oh! Your memory like the transposing waves of the Yamuna
Reverberates in me and rejoices me with the 
fluted melody of love grove,
It heals my grieved and guillotined heart with the balms
Of excitement, enthusiasm and exuberance of a dancing Cherub!

Ah! Your memory is sometimes the verbal breeze of a Spring,
At other times, a cold, chilly wind of a dull and sombre winter,
A life devoid of charms of affinity and nectar of love pinches as a calamity
And strokes with strong amd unbearable blows of bereavement bitter!

Ah! Sometimes your memory, like the sordid hues of the Palash blooms,
Reminds me of the mirage like colourful petals of the past tales,
Still, it fails not to keep the optimistic flames
shimmering in the heart
And mitigates the melancholy and allays the furies of the merciless gales!

O Memory! You sometimes spontaneously step down my life's steps
As the seasons descend down the earth with treasure troves of mirth,
And, at other times, like a sad song of bereavement you haunt me,
Still like the shiny Sun, you adorn my life's another page, the Earth!
