ଜୀବନର ଯାତ୍ରା ପଥେ

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ବିରହୀ ମନରେ
    ଲୁହ ଭିଜା ଶ୍ରାବଣରେ
ଲହୁ ଧାରେ ଧାରେ ଯାଉଥିଲା ବହି
     ନରମ ଶେଯ ଉପରେ    ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ଫଗୁଣ ସଞ୍ଜରେ
     ଏ ମନ କୁଞ୍ଜବନରେ
ଘାସ ଗାଲିଚାରେ ମୁକ୍ତାର ବିନ୍ଦୁରେ
     କେବେ ଶିଶିର ଟୋପାରେ     ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ବାଦଲ ଉହାଡେ
       ଜହ୍ନର ଜ୍ୟୋସ୍ନା ଭିତରେ
ନୀଳ ସାଗରର ଉତ୍ତାଳ ତରଙ୍ଗେ
        ବେଳା ଭୂମି ସମୀପରେ   ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ଫୁଲ ପାଖୁଡ଼ାରେ
         ପ୍ରିୟାସୀ ପ୍ରାଣ ବିନ୍ଦୁରେ
ଅଭାବୀ ମନର ପ୍ରୀତିର ପୁଲକେ
      ପ୍ରତି ସ୍ପନ୍ଦନ ଛୁଆଁରେ     ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ଲୁହ ଛଳ ଛଳ
      ଭରା ନୟନ ନେତ୍ରରେ
ସୁଖ ସାଉଁଟିଛି  ବିନ୍ଦୁ ବିନ୍ଦୁ ଲୁହେ
       ବସି ବିଜନ ବେଳାରେ     ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ମନ ମଉସୁମୀ
       ଝଡ ବତାସ ଭିତରେ
ଦୁଃଖର ଗଜଲ ଗାଉଥିଲା ପୁଣି
      ମନ ସାହାନାଇ ତୀରେ   ।।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ମୃଦ୍ୟୁ ସମୀରଣେ
      ସୁଲୁ ସୁଲୁ ବାଆ ସାଥେ
ପାହାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରହର କୁଆଁ ତାରା ବକ୍ଷେ
     ଅନନ୍ତ ଗଗନ ପଥେ   ।

ତୁମକୁ ଦେଖିଛି ହୃଦର ଆଳୟେ
     ଦୀପ ନୈବେଦ୍ୟ ଜାଳିଲେ
ବୃନ୍ଦାବତୀ ମୂଳେ ମଙ୍ଗଳ ମନାସୀ
       ଶୁଭ ଶଙ୍ଖ ବଜାଇଲେ    ।।

ତଥାପି ମେଣ୍ଟିନି ଏ ପ୍ରାଣ ପିପାସା
        ଜୀବନର ଯାତ୍ରା ପଥେ
ନିଇତି ଜଳୁଛି ନିଇତି ମରୁଛି
       ଦୁଃଖକୁ ଆଦରି ସାଥେ    ।।

ON LIFE'S VOYAGE........

Alas! Bereaved and isolated by your wilful indifference,
Still, my wet loyal eyes have seen none other than you in life!
Ah! My tears like the torrential showers of the month of July
Have, in vain, inundated my beds countless times I rest upon for solace!

Alas! Despite being bereaved and secluded by your rigid negligence,
I have felt you in the vernal evenings of my mind's lush, rapt grove!
Yes, I have sometimes perceived your precious presence
In the pearly dew drops of the lawns; at other times, in vapours above!

Alas! Bereaved and sidelined by your sharp and disdainful shrug
Behind the dark, ephemeral clouds, your glimpses I have beholden!
I have ever caught sight of you in the towering tides of the azure seas,
I have sensed you roaming as the capricious gusts near the shore golden!

Alas! Bereaved and alienated by your deliberate apathy,
All the same, I have felt you in the aromatic petals of the flowers!
I have envisaged you in the mirth of affinity of this impoverished impulses,
I have envisioned you in each of my sobbing heartbeats heavenly pious!

Alas! Bereaved and estranged by your lackadaisical callousness,
I have viewed you with tearful eyes flooded with an unspeakable helplessness!
Squatting sorrowfully on the unacquainted and stranded beaches,
In the tear drops I have looked for rest and amassed happiness!

Alas! Bereaved and abandoned by your aloofness incurious,
Still, I have visualized you in my mind's monsoons and tempests!
On the melancholic shore of Shehnai
I have composed sad ballads and sung alone the ghazals dolorous!

Alas! Bereaved and deserted by your deathly detachment,
Still, I have seen you in the gentle winds and 
soft breezes!
On the bosom of the Polestar towards the end of night
I have seen you on the eternal course of the firmament!

Alas! Bereaved and overlooked by your intolerable insensitivity,
Still, I have seen you in the niche of my heart ceaselessly bleeding,
I have felt your existence while lighting up diyas near Vrindavati,
While praying to God, offering prasad to Him and seeking His blessing!

Lo! Untired and sanguine a wayfarer I'm on life's endless voyage,
Albeit befriending sorrows, I'm burning and dying all nights and days!
