FLUTTERS OUR NATIONAL FLAG HIGH.

 

When our country was under foreign rule,

We used to suffer a lot, and our sufferance was indescribable.

However, we are free today; so we needn’t be scared of anyone,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

Hereafter, we shall carry out only what is beneficial for our progress

In the great history of our country, by our deeds we shall etch our names.

We shall proceed on the path of duty, sacrifice and dedication

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

Henceforward, no one among us will be allowed stay hungry’

We shall execute our utmost to uplift the self-esteem of our country.

Rendering service to the country is our only resolve and determination,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

Henceforth, all Indians will be considered brothers, not untouchables

Whatever work we will do will be for the welfare of one and all.

All are here own countrymen; no one will be treated as foreign,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

We are going to set up in the country many plants, factories and industries,

So that a wide range of goods can be produced to end wants and miseries.

A host of engineers, technicians and workers can be created anon,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

We are never born to bend and succumb, for we are a heroic race,

We can even sacrifice our lives so that we can discharge our promises.

To make the earth as beautiful as the heaven is our noble intention,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!

 

Let’s promise in a chorus today, o my millions of countrymen

Wherever we may be, we shall never to lag behind, despite much pain,

No other country should surpass in knowledge, science and invention,

For, flutters high our National Flag, the pride and dignity of our Nation!
