“ଫୁଲ ପରି ଆମେ ହେବା” ଓ ଅନ୍ୟାନ ସଂଗୃହିତ ଓଡ଼ିଆ କବିତା / LET’S BE LIKE FLOWERS!" AND OTHER COLLECTED POEMS

TIME HAS WASHED AWAY…..

O my darling! You delayed so much to meet

That the love and affection I had fondly treasured for you

Has already been washed away by Time pitiless and indiscreet!

O my darling! I had callously stored the joys without smiling even once

And I have shed tears like ceaseless showers of the month of July

And I have spent myriad sleepless nights to save dreams for you, I don’t lie,

Lest my hard earned love and affection should be exhausted perchance!

O my darling! I had carefully built a utopian city trance

And a small cell juxtaposed to it.

In truth, I had obtained bagging the Moon’s fluorescence,

And thick darkness from the moody Night

To sow the sensuous seeds together with you all Night long

Sipping the draughts of love for you passionate and strong,

But, alas! You delayed so much to meet

That the love and affection I had fondly treasured for you

Was washed away by Time pitiless and indiscreet!

LET’S BE LIKE FLOWERS!

Let’s be like the soft, sweet and fresh flowers,

And win every heart around us by our soothing scent showers!

Let’s be like trees, the livers of Mother Nature,

And please all hearts by our blooms, fruits and shade rapture!

Let’s be like the leaping and murmuring springs

And attain God’s mercy that shines as the Sun, and as a Koyel sings!

Let’s be like the diligent, perseverant and benign bees,

And by collecting honey for charity, we’ll make all bathe in glee seas!

Let’s be like the great Himalayan Mountains,

And face quietly gales, bitter cold, scorching heat and torrential rains!

Let’s render selfless service, a pure form of worship,

To be blessed blissfully to sail smoothly, in the rough ocean, life’s ship!

Let’s all be the votaries of Virtue, nobility and sublimity,

And transcend the boundaries of mortality called Eternity!
